Hi! My name is Meridith Simes and I spend most of my time finding and developing land in City of Buford Schools. I am originally from Austin, Texas and now live in downtown Buford, GA with my daughter Annie who attends Buford Middle School. I spent over 15 years of my life working with personal growth and leadership speakers and developing their businesses, brands, products, events and books. My favorite role was President for Dr. John C. Maxwell’s consumer division. I learned a lot about building individual’s businesses and now I am building my own. I switched careers completely into real estate about 6 years ago to spend more time with my daughter and not so much of my time traveling on a plane for work. I have been a buyers agent, a listing agent, and a home builder. I hold my real estate license with Hillwood Realty here in Buford. At any one time, I have about 10-15 land development projects going on. I focus on residential estate lots. If you are wanting to build a custom home in City of Buford you are the majority of who I work with.

People ask me all the time why Buford City?

The City of Buford has one of the top school systems in the state. While their athletics program is over-the-top and our school produces college and professional athletes, their academics and arts programs are why I am here. I was in theatre in high school and college and my daughter is focused highly in the arts as well. If you attend any of the middle or high school theatre or chorus performances you would think you were watching kids about to go to Broadway. In addition, the town is so clean… if you drive through our town you don’t see trash anywhere - Buford spends so much of their time and resources on keeping the city beautiful. This town looks like something out of a movie during the holidays. Main Street is phenomenal and I always look forward to the restaurant specials at Rico’s World Kitchen. While we have thousands of kids in the high school you still have an amazing small-town feel. It is rare I go a day without running into someone I know. In my opinion, there is no other community like it. And last and most importantly… you are a Wolf K-12 and so are the parents. There is so much pride here in that and what has tied our community together. Before Buford, my daughter was in a middle school that fed into 3 different high schools. There is only one here. One kindergarten. One Buford Academy. One Buford Senior Academy. One Buford Middle School and one Buford High School. At the end of it - Our City planners just know what they are doing.
